Been poking around the forum and may have answered myself. Looks it might just be Mechanical Doubling.Such a bummer! Was a nice rush while it lasted though.

With a coin that sharply struck, and your obvious access to excellent magnification, don't forget to check for the DDO. It is quite rare but worth looking for when you have a coin where it would be visible.
