So I'm relatively new to collecting coins, dont have any idea about paper money. I received this in my change today from dinner. First the image is shifted ro the right on the front and left on the rear. Second, the 1 in the upper right serial number looks a little thick to me. Are these considered errors on a star note, and if so what would be a rough guess on its value?

Sorry, close on the margin issue, but not close enough. Thickness on digit is not meaningful. It's a spender.

I agree with Coinfrog, but no one would fault you if you decide to hang onto it... it's cool and only a dollar.
