Happy birthday Canada! Who has $7000 to celebrate with this coin?
I don't. Pass.

Haha, this made me chuckle.

$7,000 celebration is definitely excessive.
Nice coin but wow!
If I wanted a high end diamond I wouldn't want it stuck in a coin.

I would want a diamond grading certificate issued by the Gemnological Association of America with valuation certificate to justify the price.

Nice coin, but imo, if the value of the diamond exceeds much the value of the coin - this is already "coin stuck to diamond"

It's a .20 carat of questionable grade, no where worth 5 grand, the stone is maybe 2000.00 at best

As far as Canada 150 coins go, with such low mintage, and simple yet bold design, I think this coin is nice but my pockets are not nearly that deep.
A diamond sure beats a crystal or glass bug. Lol

A .20 carat forevermark diamond is worth $1000 at most and that is very high for .20 carat
Rest in Peace

Not a very "inspired" coin, a very "inspired" price. Nice to know you Canadians still haven't lost the art of Capitalism!

I didn't like the design. Ever time I saw the design, I had the urge to move the diamond to the centre. I think the coin would look much better without the diamond, although the design itself is an easy play on the 150 logo.

Beside the ordinary design, the best loose .20 ct VVS2 diamond is around $400 (on ebay)... not nearly enough to bump $3,000 gold even close to $7,000.

Color E, F, G, VVS1 and bigger ones are way - way - way - cheaper. With the gold background and in the middle of nowhere to see the diamond in full view this is a really bad purchase. I suspect you will get maybe diamonds with small imperfections and E-F color ~$99 range. Seriously expensive without diamond certification.

** DO NOT PRESS THE BUY BUTTON **

Even if I was wanting one, I'd wait til someone who overspent on it to sell and get it second hand for half the price.

I don't think the people that buy this coin are the type that clip coupon or buy stuff second hand on kijiji. The value of the gold and diamond is not a significant factor in whether or not these collectors buy this coin. It is of very limited mintage and I believe will be sold out if not already.
