Well then let me confess I am in the process of having a 46 DDR Walker slabbed so it can be sold at Heritage LOL!

Well, Earl42, I was unsupervised last night and somehow managed to purchase a slabbed ASE graded SP70 by ANACS (and doublechecked the registration, first).

The shine of silver late at night is too much to resist...

When I see an MS70 ASE, I only wish they had put Wienmann's design on the REV as well! Don't get me wrong, I actually do like both Eagles on the REV of the AEs, I just like Weinmann's better.

Funny, the MS70 ASEs were what got me suspecting the whole grading company situation.

Years ago I was questioning the owner of ACE coins in Hagerstown MD about how the grading companies were accepted in the hobby now that I had been out of the hobby for over a decade.

He told me he had been a grader, gone through all of the training etc., but had quit fearing his own reputation as a dealer would be hurt if people found out what really goes on. To be fair, please note though that that info was given me around 2008 or so.

He told me, in short, he had conducted polls with other large dealers at shows now for a few years and they all were consistently getting back 23% (I need to go back and check that is 23% and not 20% - it's on the forum here from back around that time) of their monster boxes all the time as MS70 and the rest were assigned lesser grades. He was convinced the companies were just skimming that percentage off the top of the box and putting them into MS70 slabs instead of actually looking at each coin. So he challenged me to start looking at MS70 ASEs as well instead of just taking his word for it. I found what he said was true.

So he was the first to really encourage me to buy the slab and not the coin.

I found this seller's response to negative feedback on ebay to be humorous (although he might be completely serious). FYI: seller noahs_ark_church is known for selling ancient fantasy coins.
