I own this coin but I'm not entirely sure of its authenticity or worth, could anyone help me out with it please?

That is either a sovereign or half sovereign. You need to give is the diameter or weight. It looks authentic, although without good pictures, diameter and weight I can't be 100% sure.

In either case it is gold and is worth the gold value of .2354 oz for a sovereign or 1/2 that for a half-sovereign.

For your further info;
Sovereign 22.05mm dia 7.98gm...pure 24ct gold therefore 7.315gm of pure gold
1/2 Sov 19.5mm dia 3.99gm ditto 3.658gm

Today's spot price for 24ct gold is £28.56gm.

Your coin is bullion value.

Almost Peter. Sovereigns and half sovereigns are 22 carat so 91.67 purity.
