Hello,
I have just found a 1941 British penny. Now I am aware that between 1941 and 1943, no UK pennies were minted but this is a definitely a British George vi penny and is clearly dated 1941.
My phone is on the blink so I can't yet upload a photo but in the meantime are there any other examples of this out there and is it a rarity? What would be the rough value of this?
Many thanks

No British pennies were minted in 1941 and I don't know of any reference a possibility of it being out there.

Photos would be helpful, when available.

In the meantime, is it definitely a penny rather than half penny?

Yes I will try and get a photo up ASAP.

Yes it is definitely a penny and is dated 1941, so it's a unusual thing,

Hopefully I can shed some light on it with all the members' expertise!

Thanks for all the information. I've looked at the coin and it has the penny back with Britannia like the penny. Are you sure it is a maundy coin as it definitely looks bronze/copper ish

Poweroftaxi.....How can I possibly be sure without seeing it,it was just the first thing that it could of been
What I am sure about is it does not exsist 1941 penny so would be interested
If your sure its a bronze 1941 penny it must be an altered date but wait for you to come back with a picture.
Peters suggestion.....Have you weighed it measured it would atleast be a start.
