Thank you txabs. "peggy face"? Did you mean "piggy face"? I've never heard this type called so before, but that makes total sense! Isabella does look kind of "piggy" in that portrait.
And you are right, I've been following these 20Rs for a good bit and have seen some of the higher end specimens with well struck/detailed hair hammer in the thousands.
Yes, this is from the January auction. These are lots 619 & 620. I bid on 622 also but let it go as the hair was a bit flat for my liking.
I also participated in the recent Vico sale (I was specifically after the 20Rs of Joseph Napoleon)... I got crushed miserably. Some strong prices were reached at the auction. Oh well... off to Kunker!

In Spanish we translate Miss Piggy as "Cerdita Peggy", but I can see you totally understand me And I've just learned one more thing today!! And btw, it's just me and some friends who call this portrait as "piggy", but every person who listen that name, starts to use it. Isabella is very different in all her portraits because the "designer" (I don't know how is called in english) of the coin couldn't make the portrait similar to her... because this is how she looked in the reality:

Hahaha. I am not one to make fun of the deceased but that was funny.
Isabel was certainly a curvy woman... they all were. Just look at Victoria. Heck if all you did was sit and eat all day then you'd probably be the same.

First of all, thanks everyone for beautiful crowns posted here, truly amazing stuff. I feel that this thread is what this forum needed :) Second of all, I can't recall seeing many Arabic coins here, so I will post some of the crowns from my collection. First of all, set of Egyptian 20 piastres crowns bearing Fuad I and Farouk effigies. 1923H (Birmingham mint): 1929BP (Budapest mint): 1933 (Royal Mint?): 1937 ( Royal Mint): 1939 ( Royal Mint): Sadly I'm still missing the 1923 one without mintmark ( Royal Mint) in good condition...

Great subset Dulitu! These get extremely pricey in higher grades. I'm a big fan of Arabic crowns, especially earlier Moroccan coinage with Hebrew motifs. I'll try to dig up a few of mine and post later in the week. That first coin you have, the 1923 20P, looks like it's suffering from PVC damage. I'd suggest a short dip in some acetone to remove the green gunk to prevent further damage to the coin. I also hit a MAJOR score recently on an Egypt (British Occupation) 20Piastres piece. I paid a whopping $125 for it . The crown is fully lustrous with original surfaces. Egypt 1916 20 Piastres
