This is my only medal from the UK, so I don't know much about the Wyons as a medalist dynasty
It was not easy find the tiny TW signature on the obverse just left of A.SEWARD

USM issued Lincoln Commemorative Medal. Designed by George T. Morgan, whose signature "MORGAN" under the bust truncation may have been added to the dies for this medal after the passing of Chief Engraver Charles Barber in February 1917. The photos below show a 3 inch, 225g bronze version, which along with a 1.5 inch model, may be ordered from the USM.

Added a few tokens to my Toronto City Hall collection.

This was used to advertise maybe a coin shop. I can't find anything about it. The phone number is currently for a Sushi Shop.


The Toronto Coin Club is still going, albeit much smaller than its heyday. It's the oldest coin club in Canada, having started in May 1936. Meetings are actually currently held at city hall, but not sure if they were back then. The current Toronto city hall depicted was still a construction site at the time this was issued, so the designer must have gone off of the architect images.


These bronze tokens along with similar aluminum tokens are quite common. It seems like visitors received one of these for a period of time after the building was opened in the mid-60's. Perhaps there was a nominal amount paid to receive one.

Picked up an auction lot because the description said there was a Dan Carr 20 Ameros in there. Their pictures were terrible, and I couldn't really tell what the other 19 items + 5 coins were. Package arrived today and I made out like a bandit. 8 definite keepers, 11 mostly junk, 2 undecideds. Coins were a damaged '37 Buffalo nickel, 1895 and 1907 Indian Head cents, and uncirculated 1958-D and 1959-D Lincoln Cents. Just showing off the keepers and one undecided here:

Here's some of the junk. These were made by an outfit called "American Mint", and probably sold on a home shopping channel, late nite infomercials, or junk mail inserts. Worthless. They didn't even bother to use nice coins for the inlays. I couldn't pry the gold-plated coins out with my fingernail, so I'll try acetone.
