Great looking Mardis Gras keepsake, Hondo. Thank you all for the comments re: the WWII Anny medal. Pairs nicely with the WWII privy ASE.

Thank you, GLB and daltonista. Excellent pic, dalt - but not my Krewe! I just pick up H. Alvin Sharpe items when I come across them. Here's one that was in a quart of doubloons that I picked up in New Orleans recently. The characters on his doubloons are usually a self-portrait. Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade 1970

Thanks, guys. I inadvertently omitted the specs, so I just went back and edited my post to add them: 1806 Halfpenny token, issuer unknown. Ireland Non-Local, Withers 2015, Davis 66, 28mm, 8.9g, Rare.

Thank you for the heads-up, Errers. The quality of token strikes of that era of necessity and emergency issues can be so inconsistent and slapdash that I've never given it a thought. "Planchet insufficiency" is a condition I've seen in print before, as well as "metal defect in flan" -- both in pretty high-end auction catalogs. I'm reminded of the Irish Gun Money as another category of examples, along with the shoddy lamination typical of the1805-1808 Bank of Ireland silver token issues.
I'll be taking a closer look at some of my tokens...thanks again!
