I bought this coin for $5 or so (from a bargain bin) a few days ago.

If I am correct, this might well be my first Ancient Greek copper coin that isn't from Pantikapaion, Olbia, the Seleukids or the Ptolemies.
I can't seem to make any sense of the legend, however.

(Yes, I know my photos suck; I might try to make better ones later.)

Unidentified-Ancient-Coin---Greek?-Weird-Legends Unidentified-Ancient-Coin---Greek?-Weird-Legends

"Obverse": dog? prancing right, with fish? right under belly, ΛΛΥΣΙυΑΧ (?) below, ςΛΣΙΓ (?) above (legends are my best guess... )
"Reverse": helmet, and nothing else that I could see
Diameter: 17 mm. Weight will have to wait until I find my ruler.

...Is that even Greek? I can't make any sense of the legend.
Maybe it's an imitation of some kind? Would be cool if it was...

Looks like a Celtic imitation of a Lysimachos coin

Seems to be it, yes! Well, not exactly the linked type, but either something like it or the copied original (but the M is probably too sloppy for an original).

I think my example might show a facing helmet though... not very sure, however.

How did you find that, by the way?

That's impressive!

The original legend would be ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩς (BASILEOS) above, and ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ (LYSIMACHOU) below.
