Had a pressed cent that was done by Adam J. Cool that I posted a few months ago which I thought might be a pheasant. I was wrong. Here is one done by him that I am pretty sure is one. Here is the old one. I forget what the general consensus was as to what it was. Quail perhaps?
Excellent, chafemasterj! Yes, I think the first is a quail, and the second is definitely a dove. He must have done a series of game birds, so there must be a duck out there waiting for you!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The options on Adam J. Cool's list of engraved dies he made for birds was: Grouse, Quail, Woodcock, Duck (small), Duck (large), Eagle, Pheasant, Turkey, Goose (small), Goose (large), Dove, Two ducks, and Penguin. He posted the birds from the list back on page 176 but not the rest of the list from Adam Cool that he made (and this image was posted on 175), then there was a bit of discussion on 184+185.
Quote: This list is a fascinating look into Adam J. Cool's life, hobbies and passions. There are 15 different firearms, the 13 birds previously listed, 10 Police shields, 9 Animals, and 7 fish among many miscellaneous. When I have more time I will type out the list if anyone is interested.
Perhaps you can contact Mr Wacks to ask if he still uses the email since 2020 as my time is temporarily limited to do so. https://new.coinsweekly.com/whoswho/wacks-mel-2/ I've been reading that Adam J. Cool did dies for many elongated cents, miniature coins, die struck tie tacs and clips, and a Disney punch-out. He also was a die engraver who made most of the Wacks earlier counterstamp dies so clearly he would have some knowledge. After he passed away, Mel suspended his counterstamps for many years. When he started again, the counterstamps had a different look. From 1976 through 1984, Mel Wacks designed and counterstamped more than 10,000 coins for more than 20 occasions including the Los Angeles Olympics, President Reagan's Inauguration, Freedom for the American Hostages, Pope John Paul II's visits to Mexico and the USA, and more. A catalog of these counterstamped coins was published in the TAMS Journal (March-April 2011) and appears online see the small links to pages 1-5 on bottom https://amuseum.org/jahf/wacks-counterstamps.html or as a document https://www.tokenandmedal.org/Journ...el_Wacks.pdf
I was originally interested in the nasa, he also was working on one for albert einstein 8 years ago, which failed on kickstarter but raised outside funds to create no more than 100 counterstamped Einstein 1915 half dollars. If interested, email directorjahf@yahoo.com for ordering information. No idea if still available as that was 8 years ago.
That is some fascinating information datadragon. I was given a list of his pressed cents by an eBayer I had purchased some items from. You beat me to listing the birds he had done. He was obviously a very talented engraver with an affinity for birds and firearms.

Absolutely, you will read that he also did most of the earlier Mel Wacks counterstamps you can see in those links. Would be nice to see the entire list next time you find one. Mels email is in that first link, I would think you may get a lot of info plus perhaps find some other things he has for your collection if you wanted to contact him. I'm sure seeing your huge collection would be of interest as well. Even that Mickey Mouse pressed cent from 1978 I posted images of before and below was from Adam Cool. This cent was pressed not rolled between rollers as shown by the reverse of the coin.https://www.parkpennies.com/elongat...s-dw/pnc.htm
