Quote: Them Masons are everywhere - Agreed! One thing I wish I could learn is why did the Masons counter stamp so prolifically? I have hundreds of different examples. Did each chapter have their own counter stamp? ...or was it some sort of rite of passage? I dunno. Someone enlighten me please.

Cupped pressed stamped Zincoln LMC I think from what surviving details I can make out close to the rim. On the obverse is the Masonic square and compass. The reverse has a Masonic stamp I'm not familiar with... Here is a graphic I found online that seems to show the Masonic Hierarchy. I see triangles but nothing in the same arrangement as the stamp.

Another Pressed Cup Stamped Zincoln LMC... This one is Masonic as well. The obverse is the same as the previous post. Looks like this one 'stretched' the .0008" thin copper plating so much that it separated considerably...

I don't know therefore I asked. Seems to me the zinc would also need humidity for an air/oxygen reaction to take place?

There is no place on earth with zero humidity, so therefore the coin is technically not stable. But I don't think I'd sweat it.

Quote: so therefore the coin is technically not stable. Right - Kids in Grade School would know that - BUT At 40 to 50 % humidity, bacterial growth ceases. Now the question is - "Is bacterial growth the same as metal composition breakdown? If so - then why do cars rust in Ohio but not in Texas?
