Dragonfly counter stamp....  Two previous dragonfly counter stamps...   All three do look the same.

Repousse Knights of Columbus stamp... very uncommon use of the round punch repousse style outside of Masonic stamped cents. Wow. Really hard to get a picture of this. Combination of my lighting not being the best and the fact that the stamp is 3D. Here's a picture I took through my loupe with my phone.

1927 LWC counter stamped on both the obverse and the reverse with the Yale lock company's logo...

Nice niche area for collecting. I'm curious though, where do the stamps come from and what was the point of manufacture? Were they manufactured primarily for making counterstamps on coins? In Oz I have only encountered numbers punched into $1 coins which were apparently used for testing repaired vending machines and arcade games so the technician could distinguish the test coins from those already in the money box. These penny counterstamps are a whole new ball game (to me anyway!). Thanks for the posts.
