Not the best pictures, but fun to see what I paid for these around 1974. Wish I'd had more lawn mowing money back then.

I just noticed some extra metal ridges in the 1959, interesting.

I got paid $5 per yard when I was a kid. In Florida, you can almost see grass grow during summer
Rest in Peace

Minimum wage was $1.25/hr when I was a kid. Not that this dates me.

Very nice kbbpll!

Those staples scare me. Don't let them hurt you.

My Dansco set. I'm planning to replace the 1956-1962 proofs with circulated business strikes to accomplish a more uniform look.

Very nice!

I agree with your uniform look comment. I feel the same way. All proof or all BU or all circulated with the same finish/luster looks great in these Dansco's!

Coconutjoe, my brother and I also got $5 per lawn. Our neighborhood was all 1 acre properties though, ouch. USSID18, I hear you on the staples, but they've been like that in the same album page since I bought them, I'm very careful with them, and the page behind is all junk. Honestly when I pulled them out for photos could be the first time in 20+ years they saw some fresh air.
Some really great Franklins here. I probably have half a dozen or so (in much worse condition) that I pulled out of circulation during those years and the excitement of that still seems fresh!

I have one BU set and have the better half of a second set with the tough ones out of the way.
For proofs of course, I lack the 50,51,52 and 1953.
Here's my first set, not the greatest pics.

To post a Franklin half and go with the flow ...
Here's a duplicate 1949 S ( it's in a holder with a little dust showing up )

I'm curious as to why Dansco does not include holes for the proof issues. Any ideas?
