I bought a new computer in February and had to find an optimizer compatible with Microsoft edge. 1. 1554 N-C under King Ferdinand I with 3 rosettes under the Madonna;Huszar 953,Unger 745l. 2. 1548 K-B under King Ferdinand I. Most of them have VNG in the obverse legend, more scarce VNGA(like this one,and even more scarce longer:Huszar 935,Unger 745a. 3. 1530 A-B under King John Zapolya,an unpublished variant with a curved crest;Huszar 881var.,Unger 699z var.,Pohl 265-2 var. I will have one for 1524. *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

Those are fantastic. I have been adding more medieval coins lately and really like them. I have not ventured so far as to try the Hungarian coinage, I have mainly stuck with English and French.

Very nice @eddiediz! For the Denar from 1530, I note that the lower left hand quadrant is different than mine and the issuing king is John rather than Ferdinand. Now that I dig deeper, I see (at least on wikipedia) that John I (Zapolya) ruled between 1526-1540 AD. Interestingly, his reign was disputed by Ferdinand I and it seems as though both rulers issued dated denars in their respective names for at least some of this period.

Thanks for the link Ron--I'm sure that it is about the 10th time that you have pointed it out to me, but I always seem to forget about it...

More new additions. 1. 1566 K-B Hungarian Denar under King Maximilian;Huszar 992,Unger 766a. 2. 1531 Eagle wings Denar under King Ferdinand I;Huszar 961,Unger 744o. The eagle wings are under the Madonna. The obverse was double struck and the eagle wings are opposite the date. Reverse n's in the legend and an x over the crest are traits of an eagle wing denar. 3.1471-81 K-PV under Matthias Corvinus;Huszar 718,Unger 564e,Pohl 219-5. 4. 1470 n-hammers under Matthias Corvinus;Huszar 717,Unger 562m,Pohl 216-13. On this variety, the Madonna is without stole.

Denars with MM other than KB are relatively scarce and for many years rare/very rare. The 1554 NC is an exceptionaly nice piece.
