Newbie234 Pillar of the Community United States 1386 Posts	Posted 05/25/2018 10:11 am The lower west end of the MM looks like it has a tail. To the East it looks like VLDS. So is the tail part of the VLDS? Also Sorry about the poor pics. I've tried for 3 days to get pics of this little bugger and this is the best I could get. Anyway any advice is greatly appreciated! coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/25/2018 1:39 pm Yes. Note the scratches just east of the mint mark? lose may have been die scratches on the edge of the mint mark. They may have been in any direction. But now they are growing in that direction. Why? Because of die wear. Note every line on your coin in that area is going in that same direction. That is called die flow. We often think of it on the centers of the coin, but they are even stronger on the LDS and then even more easily seen on VLDS examples. So it was not there in earlier die states, but now it heading for the ~~beach~~ rim. Report this Post to the Staff
