Poll Question
Is this classic coinage or modern? I opted for the latter, because the design traverses well into modern. My first take - the obverse is most assuredly PMD. The reverse however resembles strike through. It aligns positionally with the obverse. Was someone curious if pliers could improve a 1932-D Washington Qtr? Or was it struck through on both sides during the minting process?

I would say that it's a damaged coin. It's Post Strike Damage.

Some kind of pliers or another tool gripped it hard.

it's still an excellent trading material piece.
I've seen this condition go for 45+, consistently.

@kfsd, because you can see "smushed" metal on the coin opposite to these divots, I think it is safe to say that it is damage. As @fioti points out, it is a key date in the series and there could find a willing home when you are ready to upgrade.

Thanks all for the votes!
So the takeaway is I just need a pair of pliers for the other side to see if I can make symmetrical markings.
