Uncirculated U. S. Mint Set - 1991 D Nickel Damaged Reverse

Mint set as a gift several years ago and decided to take a closer look at the individual coins and discovered one with a lot of damage (shown below). scstrawn Pillar of the Community United States 536 Posts	Posted 07/20/2018 08:52 am They can be damaged at any point from minting to packaging and it will still be uncirculated. The mint didn't take any special care of these, other than to set the bin aside to go to packaging. They are getting better these days, somewhat. Report this Post to the Staff

Chase007 Pillar of the Community United States 7523 Posts	Posted 07/20/2018 10:15 am Nicks and dings and scratches and bag marks are part of a process from the moment that the coin is released from the mint until we get them, those that are mint wrapped and as mentioned are still in original wrap are considered Uncirculated regardless of their condition and that's why we pay much higher premiums for higher grade coins.the higher the grade the pricier they get.
