Could anyone tell me about the 2005 $5 60th anniversary of end of second world war coin with the privy mark? Did it come in a maroon case with a coa? Or was it part of another set in Europe and the only way to get it is through that set? and would there be a coa with it? Thanks
Quote: The privy mark version was, I believe, part of a set not available in Canada.
Canada's 2005 $5 double-privy coin was included in a six-coin set marketed by The Royal Mint - "The Allied Forces Silver Proof Set." The set came in a wooden case with a COA and info booklet. It's a nice set.
It includes the following commemorative pieces:
- Canada's WWII Maple Leaf silver $5.00 - The UK's silver £2 - France's silver 1.5€ - Australia's silver $1 - Russia's silver 3 roubles - The US Silver Eagle $1 (not a commemorative piece)
All of the coins are dated "2005" and all were struck as proofs; Canada's coin was listed as a matte proof.
