Can you help identify this coin, sorry that it is very worn and cant see much. One side has a shield that might be identifiable with writing possibly - ..DG ? LGAEBIOH?..

Well, that's a Portuguese shield, so it's either from Portugal or a Portuguese colony.

What's the size and weight? That would help.

Thank you for identifying the shield it will help me in the right direction. Its 29mm diameter and 6.3 grams. Also I have worked out now it says - 'ALGARBIORUM'

I checked the entire list of old Portuguese coins on Numista, and this is the only type that is even close to fitting.

(It was really the ALGARBIORUM that helped me - almost all the other types had some variety of PORTUGAL on the left side instead.)

I think the lettering I see on the second pic is consistent with what is supposed to be there, so it's probably a match, I guess?
