Finally found a decent 1984 to fill a hole in my Dansco. The '84 is far from being one of the lowest mintages in the series, but for some reason finding a decent 1984 is rather hard.  |

Photos to go up later today. Went to the biggest flea market in the state today and picked up a few coins while out. First thing was a 1943-D penny, loose in a bucket of wheats. Price was a nickel. I'm satisfied.  Next I found a guy who had some circulated War Nickels in 2x2s, asking price of a dollar a piece. I picked out the five I could find and offered $4.50, and we had a deal. Spot on these is roughly 84 cents, and I paid 90 cents per coin. All considered, I'm calling this a success.  Lastly I happened upon a booth operated by some gentlemen from a local coin store. They happened to have the 50th anniversary Kennedy uncirculated set. The one that's currently selling on ebay for a little under $20 regularly and was issued at $9.95 by the Mint. Their asking price, which was low enough I didn't even bother haggling, was $7.50.  I also found this bag for $2 and had to take it home. Time to research how to clean it.  In short, I feel like for what I bought, I cleaned up. Edited by SaintRidley

More additions to the Libertad collection. Got this one really cheap because (seriously?) someone in the past , wrote the price on it with a marker. A little acetone bath, and in to the Dansco.   Then, to me, no Libertad collection is complete without the 1921 Dos Peso which was the first appearance of the statue of Winged Victoria. Later to be adopted as the reverse of the Libertad and the Onzas, the Mexican mint's initial issue of gov't sanctioned bullion coins. Here is the 1949 Onza I just picked up.   |
