1943-S Wheat Cent With Different Looking Retained Cud

I just found this and it is unusual looking in that the Retained Cud, instead of being raised, actually looks pushed-in or recessed (I hope my pics show this). You can see that the base of the bust has shifted downward. All this has caused a crack on the reverse. I have not found this particular error coin on COC. This is still considered a Retained Cud, right? It's very cool looking.

Yep, it's still a Retained Cud. Very nice find and congratulations! The reverse also shows a nice Die Crack and a huge Die Chip. When you send these pictures to JC Stevens, so he can list it, make sure to note the Die Crack and Die Chip as a die marker for this die.

That's an awesome coin Sudz! Yeah, that's definitely a retained. If there was any more displacement that chunk of die would have dropped out. Congrats!

Wow, nice one! I don't think I've ever seen a Retained Cud with that much displacement.
