Hi Guys

I recently got an Umayyad coin with a thick dirt on the peripheral. How this can be removed safely without damaging the coin?

The rest of the coin is already very clean--I am pretty sure that is horn silver, not dirt. It shouldn't get much worse, but it can't be removed without damaging the coin - the silver is now permanently bonded to other molecules.

Thanks Steve, So you suggest me leave it as is? Also Umayyad not too old so why these types of patina happened? I mean roman and greek are old but even those I dont see much damage like this.

Yeah, it's best to just leave it as is.
