Quote: My order status still listed as "Processing". Anyone else taking the slow train? I just found out processing can take up to 2 days and doesn't include weekends. Also, any orders placed after 12 pm may not start til next day. One time I got expedited shipping, placed order at 1pm and didn't end up shipping til Wednesday. Most recently I went with basic and I received shipping confirmation that same day. Go figure.

Quote:I would have thought there'd be more interest in the set because of the limited number of the Reverse Proof Kennedy half. I guess it depends upon what you mean by "more" As you said, the low mintage coin (excluding varieties and errors) for the Kennedy series is the 1998-S Ag Matte Proof coin that was included in the Kennedy Collector's set. That coin didn't have a mintage limit, but instead had an ordering period limit. The ordering period was from 2 Jan - 13 Feb 1998 (6 weeks) and it resulted in 64,141 sets being sold. The 2nd lowest mintage coin of the series is the 2014-W Au half dollar. It had a limited mintage of 75,000 and sold 56,694 (75.6%) on the first day. Ultimately, it was essentially sold out with a mintage of 73,772. The 3rd lowest mintage coin is the coin included in last year's reverse proof set. With a limited mintage of 200,000, it sold 106,108 (53%) on the first day and took about 6 weeks to sell out with a final mintage of 199,116. The Kennedy half dollar included in this year's Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 2019 Proof Half Dollar set will become the 3rd lowest mintage Kennedy half dollar at 100,000 minted (or at a lower number if the set doesn't sell out). It's first day's sales were 49,825 (49.8%). IMHO, the level of interest in the 2019 coin is pretty consistent with the levels of interest for the other low mintage Kennedy coins. I expect it to sell out, but it will probably take a few weeks. Similar to what happened with last year's reverse proof set.

Thanks for the info, Wyzeguy. By the way: Quote:The Kennedy half dollar included in this year's Apollo 11 50th Anniversary 2019 Proof Half Dollar set will become the 3rd lowest mintage Kennedy half dollar at 100,000 minted (or at a lower number if the set doesn't sell out). It's first day's sales were 49,825 (49.8%). Did we actually confirm that this is the only way to purchase this Kennedy, or will it be offered separately or in another type of set?

Quote: Did we actually confirm that this is the only way to purchase this Kennedy, or will it be offered separately or in another type of set? So far, I haven't seen any other product description that includes this coin (if someone has seen such a description it would be great if they'd post a link!). The wild cards are the 3 young collector focused sets (Rocketship, Explore & Discover, Youth Coin & Currency). AFAIK, the Mint hasn't released a description of what these sets will have in them. Previous young collector sets did include half dollars, so I suppose the Mint could throw us a curve ball and include the enhanced reverse proof Kennedy half dollar in one of those sets. We'll just have to wait and see

What makes the enhanced RP JFK half look different than an average RP JFK half?

Please use them in the future. ***I couldn't find the coin in any other set descrpitions on the US Mint web site. I also chatted on-line with them and they could not identify any other set that would include the Kennedy half. Having said that, it does seem like the chat personnel simply read from a script and just scan the web pages - they don't seem to have any more info than what is posted to their web site.

Has anyone taken a look at the Engraved print? There was a mintage of 8000, currently unavailable and ebay bids of over 5 times the list price. Definitely didn't see that one coming.

Updated sales figures (edit: now including max mintage figures & % sold): Some way to go to a sell out for any of the offerings, but the halves set is inching closer.
