Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to identify the 1967 10 cent mackerel dime between the .800 and .500 silver types? Is it just a matter of different weight? or is there another way to tell which dime you have?
Thanks

I just checked coinsandcanada.com and the weights are the same. Maybe if you did the tissue test the 80% would show as brighter than the 50%? Other than that idea,an XRF test.

There is no way of telling by looking or weighing them.
That is why dealers only pay out 65% of silver spot for them.
The only way of telling for sure is with a XRF test
