What has been done to this coin?
This is the first gold coin I have seen with this surface.
Looks like someone tried to make this Proof-Like.
What grade would you give it.

This is a better date with AU details. Unfortunately it does look harshly cleaned.

Someone might have been trying to hide other damage/problems but at this point what/why this happened is not important. Many realize messing with a coin's surfaces is a bad idea (most of the time).

Looking at it with the naked eye it looks great.
I don't think the person I bought it from looked at it closely.
I mailed it back for a refund. No harm no foul.
