I found this a little interesting. Anyone know the story behind it? I googled a little but don't know what or who to believe. Thanks!

A counterstamp that could stand for many things besides the obvious.

Good point! It may not stand for the obvious. When googling I found a site that said some member of the nra did this in 2009 to a bunch of nickels. Didn't know if that was true or not. I realize it's not valuable, but thought if there was a story behind it, would make it a little more interesting. Thanks

I found that lots of "NRA" counter stamped nickels seem to be out there. They have different dates, but all of the coins I found have the same style and location of the counter stamp. They are just damaged coins now and only worth 5¢.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
