I have this coin with blisters/warts under mint mark, on date, chin, nose also in letters of liberty. some on reverse. What is this a bad die strike or possible an error. Thanks in advance for any help you may give me ....Rick

That is called split plating. When the zinc get air, it starts to rise on the split areas. Not a good thing. Very spendable. The clock is now ticking down for this coin:

Hello Thank you for the information. I have only been a member for a few days and I am really liking this site. I recently got two of my gran kids ( 8 & 14 ) interested in collecting coins. I love spending time going through coins rolls with them.... Thank You ...Rick

Unfortunately the Zincolns may not be around for the years to come...Lincoln copper cents you can still see a beautiful 1909...even after 110 years...what do you think a Lincoln will look like in 110 years.

KK ...Good point ! I am wondering how well the Zincolns are going to weather time in those 2x2 folders . When I recently got active collecting I had around 8000 copper cents that I took back to the bank mostly to make room . I thought advertising them on ebay but didnt want to take the time. I have went through a couple of bricks but have not saved out the coppers except the fancy ones...Rick
