Do all lamination errors simply go by lamination...pertaining to how minor..or large... is there different types..stages etc..and is that a ghost on back of this one..

Thanx for the link on that..just gets alittle confusing..like lamination I feel should prolly b called delaminated..and clashed die is kinda a progressive and indirect design transfer..but after reading your link I see..kind of..like a faint line between the two..pidt and die clash..and it is understood now..thankyou

I may have this wrong so...die clash is where the dies hit each other without a planchet between them. IDT does have planchets between them and the dies wear (some how). There are lamanations and de-lamanations.. John1

The lamination is the value for this coin. the RIDT is not a premium for the coin.

Quote: isn't a clashed die a form of indirect progressive design transfer? Nope, a clash is a DIRECT transfer (the two smack into each other). PIDT is also common on 1852 Three Cent Silvers - another case like the 40s cents - where the mint used the dies well beyond any semblance of normal life span.
