If it's a type 2 is it worth getting graded to help sell?

I don't think it will grade high enough to justify slabbing.

Cool. Thanks man. I've been finding cool coins in old proof sets like this one. I hate to crack them open but I have in Hope's of selling a few I've gotten. I only wipe the haze film off the coins then 2x2 them. What works best to clean/wipe them as not to damage them? I'm new to collecting

STOP WIPING. Only use 100% pure acetone and only when necessary and still do not wipe them, only dip them.

wait I'm confused because according to coop's post the type 2 was supposed to come on proof sets only, so Fender since you said this came from a proof set its a normal coin, no?

Proof sets included both type 1 and 2. Type 2 is less common. (As noted in coop's post.)

One of the differences on the Type 1 and 2 on the 1981-S is the flat base of the mint mark (type 1) and the rounded base. (type 2) I noticed the lighting was poor on this image.
