I am not seeing it with the pis. to blurry. When the letters are in to the rim like this they can make them looked a lil doubled. Ya need better pics. but my guess from the pics is no not DDO.

The letter are semi-Blurred (on the coin-Not in my photos) but significantly ENLARGED Devises? I think this is a legit DDO?

But what you are seeing is extreme die wear. The devices on the dies move the metal towards the rims. Note on your coin: The date on the 4 is moving towards the rim. L on Liberty is almost on the rim. and the Motto is also moving in that direction. So when you see the devices moving towards the rim, that is what is happening. But this also can happen to a doubled die as well.

So with this knowledge, then you need to figure out if what you find is normal die with die wear. Or a doubled die with die wear:

Can you see the differences on these last two images? It is the little things you have to figure out as you go along. As this doesn't happen a lot, just keep in the back of your mind, it can happen. Most the examples of the 1955 DDO-002 I've seen are the LDS-VLDS examples. I keep hoping for an earlier example to add to my files, but I haven't found images yet.

@merclover.....Roger is just a Military way of saying "OK/GOT IT/GOTTCHA!"

@coop so as you said, since there is no rotation on my enlarged devised coin it's not a DDO and just SEVERE die wear, Roger! Just saw the ENLARGED devices and said, DDO, DDO, DDO! You know me by now....I'm on full alert, lol! Your" learnin me sumpin'" and its sinking in!
