The four major album brands that I am aware of are Dansco, Whitman, Harris, and Littleton. I have a Dansco type album and I love it. I am a little less thrilled with the two Littleton albums I own- I just dont really care for the ring binder style. Also, my Littleton ASE album toned some of my ASEs a russet color around the periphery I have no experience with the Whitman or Harris albums.

So, my question is this- what brand of albums do you prefer and do you have a reason for using that brand of album?

I used to use Whitman but I have switched to Dansco as I like the look of them a lot more and they protect the coins better than the old Whitmans used to.

I have a few of each album, but the one I actually like the best is the one I made myself out of a looseleaf binder and a bunch of 2x2 pages! No annoying unfillable holes to worry about!

I only buy Dansco think they are clasie looking, I do have a few whitman State Quarter books that were given to me, But I prefer Dansco.. I like both styles they make where you use slip covers and the push in kind.

From an Aussie persepctibe I suppose Dansco have taken over down here. You do not see other styles. I use Dansco Supremes for my good Aussie collection. I use lighthouse albums for my euro collection.

If I am buying an album now it would always be Dansco Deluxe Albums. Have tried a little of everything in the past 30 years and they get my vote. My wife and I probably have over $800 tied up in Dansco albums. Now if I could just figure out how to fill all of them?
Rest in Peace

I've used Harris, Whitman and Dansco, and I've found that all three will tone your coins. I have a State Quarter set in a Dansco that you would swear were gold plated. I have had coins develope a green crust on the rims in Whitman albums. I am currently in the process of converting everything over to Capital holders.

I guess I'm the only one using Intercept Albums. I can't give you any feedback since I just started using them but sure hope I made the right decision.

Dansco albums from here on out. I started wth the el cheapo whitmans, but I think it's well worth a little more for a lot better album.

I have Whitman, Dansco, Littleton, Harris, and one that I can't identify. I wish they were all intercept albums, but since they are not, I prefer the Littleton and Dansco ones.

I use ugly white binders with 2x2's (and 1.5x1.5's to save space), and I leave a lot of coins (specifically, low-grade U.S. coins) loose in drawers or in rolls. I might get Dansco albums for some of my complete sets, but they always seem to have holes for items I don't consider part of the "proper" set, and they don't have holes for items that I do want to include, so I would probably get unlabeled albums.

However, the ugly white binders look like boring computer manuals and may not be as likely to be noticed by thieves, so perhaps I should leave everything in them.
