1989 Penny Error, Missing L In Liberty

It seems like the L is missing in liberty. I know there's some damage on that side but there seems to be a lot of space to the left of the "iberty"

Looks like a Struck Through Grease error on that area. Note the lighter color on the field.

@sg, first welcome to CCF. Second, when I rotate, crop, enlarge, and enhance your pic, it is too difficult for me to see whether the missing L is due to the damage or a grease-filled die.
