the coins we find missing finish are they a worth keeping or not really? and if the coin is missing finish on both side,or just one side ,obverse or reverse. which is more valuable? and also missing 10% finish and 90% done,or 90% missing and 10% done. what do you keep? and where do you find what the value is on them? any info on this will help thanks.
Unsure what you mean by 'finish'. Missing a metal surface layer, missing devices/details, or something else? As far as what to keep, you can never go wrong by keeping what you like, what you find interesting.
If possible, please post a few photos to illustrate what you're thinking. Thanks.
I ask myself about a coin, would I buy this coin? If the answer is no, it's put back into circulation without even a closer look. Damaged, bent, missing plating, zinc rotted and altered coins are just face value coins to me. Being a variety collector, I have something specific that I look for in circulation coins. Substandard coins go back to work quickly with me.
