I got this Mint set. When looking at the Dime, the U in PLURIB"U"S looks like it is missing. This is And uncirculated set so I am assuming this is a mint error? Or is it still considered a post mint error? Any help would be awesome!
Careful you don't get fingerprints on the coin. You should hold the coin by the edges or wear soft cotton gloves. I'm sure a lot of the folks that have been here a while, can tell you much more about that.
Yes, the oil on your skin will actually etch the metal permanently damaging the surface. Never touch the surfaces of a coin, always hold by the edges, or, better yet, wear cotton gloves.

Sometimes they are a bit hard to see from straight on. In the first picture, you can make out a few small lines and darker spots above Liberty.
In the second picture (up at an angle), well... was that a burger and fries, or maybe a slice of pizza and then the person remembered they had change in their pocket? Maybe their hands were just sweaty, who knows.
Even if your hands are clean, you still have a tiny bit of (slightly acidic) natural oils on your skin, which can eventually do this.
This is from a "customer wrapped" circulated roll.
