More like a RIDB. (Retained-Interior-Die-Break) That area of the die now has a slight incuse area on that area. Thus the void on the coins make it rise above the normal design. If it were a lamination, then it would be a peeled incuse area, or loose ready to fall off. This area will not fall off the coin. It a RIDB.

When the area is enclosed with a die crack and has more of the die breaking away, it is called a die break. Slight die loss is called a chip.

This is a die break (label incorrect), but note no die crack outline around it.

So was it a good find? And is the fact that the 2 sides are not properly lined up also considered an error?

Yes that is what is called a rotated reverse. Yours is very noticable. Does not make it worth more and many collectors will not buy a coin with that problem.
