2003 P US Dime Error, Distortion Of Some Sort.

I have the same date and mint mark with very similar errors, though. How could this be?

It was probably burned in a house fire. Thus the dark color on the whole coin. Just a spender. The distortion was flattened a bit:

Finally, I agree with @coop that your dime shows evidence of being in a fire. As there were a gazillion of these made, it makes sense that some would be of the same date/mint combination.
