Cud Error Or Number/Letter Misstrike? 1988 Penny

topdefi New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 03/13/2021 4:28 pm I read to try to stitch images together for easier viewing. Please instruct if I'm wrong. 1988 penny with quite an odd Cud error possibly. Looks like the letter B or number 8. I'm thinking maybe just a Cud error that positioned itself in Lincoln's hair. Second, yes there is a small hole in the copper plating that is allowing the underlying zinc core to start corroding. This is considered to be damage, not a mint error. Added: Just to be clear, the hole in the copper plating might have been there during the minting process, but not the blistering from zinc corrosion.
