1840 Seated Liberty Dollar - Grading Comments/Input

RollinCoins New Member United States 31 Posts	Posted 04/12/2021 10:12 am Recently received an online auction purchase of a 1840 Seated Liberty dollar -- and once again was deceived by auction photos (UGH) Was supposed to be AU, but this clearly looks XF to my novice eye... which is basically what I paid for it (get what you pay for) -- but still disappointing.I really wanted an AU :-/ Rather than sending off to NGC for grading... I was hoping I might get some consensus opinions from more skilled eyes. Sharkman Valued Member United States 461 Posts	Posted 04/12/2021 3:04 pm I would give it 35-40 if straight graded. Like most SLDs out there, it looks cleaned. Wouldn't hazard a guess whether TPG would detail for cleaning or rim dings. I think you have a good idea of what to do with this one. Report this Post to the Staff
