It looks like MD to me, but it is a slightly tricky one. Still going to go MD though.

Note the top and bottoms of the 'S' are affected. (Those area are reduced by Machine Doubling)
There are two listed RPMs for 1971-S, none on the rest of the series. But check to see what a real RPM looks like on them:
http://www.varietyvista.com/13%20Ei...%201971S.htm
Note them on the fields? In order to be a RPM, there would have to be evidence of a spread on the punchings or like on these one listed on V.V, the are on the fields. So an enlarged mintmark or MD example, are not a RPM. There needs to be a spread on the punching that enlarges or leave evidence of a secondary punching. Example:
1955-S RPM-001:
1971-S/S-Silver-Eisenhower-RPM?
1959D-1MM-009:
1971-S/S-Silver-Eisenhower-RPM?
Did you note the RPMs?

An enlarged mintmark is not a RPM:
1971-S/S-Silver-Eisenhower-RPM?
Why not? There is not evidence of a spread on the mintmark. The punching was done, made it larger, but no spread. Hope this helps.
