Very pleased about this. Picked it up on ebay this evening. This is a rare Newfoundland 5c variant - 1945 narrow date. It's not in trends, Charlton or C&C at this time but I expect it will be eventually. Estimated to be less than 1% of extant 1945s. I'm not so concerned about the grade (F15? maybe VF20?) as these are very hard to find. I've been looking for over a year.

For comparison - this is the normal 1945. The difference in the date is readily apparent without magnification.

Nice one!
Definitely a variety worth looking for.
I'll have to dig out my 45's to check.

Thanks for the info. Never knew about that one.
As you say, hopefully Charlton will include in their Catalogue.
