Please show us full pics of both sides, right-side up. We are not standing on our heads.

toning of a coin is not an error, but I would like to see, like Coinfrog has stated full coin images up-right.
I tried turning my phone over to view the coin properly, but auto rotate mucks up my attempt.

The odd discoloration (patches of shiny light gold interspersed between heavy brown toning) point to some sort of environmental or chemical exposure I think.

Agree, toning caused by exposure to an environmental agent--as blotchy as it may be. Not terribly uncommon. Of the hoard of pre-1950s wheat cents I have squirreled away, I'd say 5% of them have similar toning. Me being me, I'd hang onto it.

Don't think it's an error, but the toning looks very nice.
Rest in Peace

To me it's just a hole filler . Looks like the obverse was cleaned then artificaly toned . The coin is pretty beat , does not look like an error . Worth about 3¢ .
