@fist, since the damaged part of this die didn't involve the rim, this isn't considered a Cud. However, the post on the die that formed the bottom part of the letter B was broken prior to the striking of this coin. The best way to describe what you have is a "broken post".

Not an error, just a common production "die event" variant that occurred thousands and thousands of times.

Whether one considers it an error or not, it is very common. You will find many more if you continue to search.
