Incredible pickup if it comes back genuine, as it appears it may! By the way, you get direct NGC submission privileges with an ANA membership, plus other benefits (The Numismatist publication I find is well worth the cost of membership alone). Many coin dealers will also provide TPG submission services.

You can send it to Great Collections and they will have it graded and auction it for you. If you're looking to flip it.

I am really hoping for the OP this turns out to be the key date or variety he is hoping for. There is really nothing like the joy finding an unrecognised rare coin in the wild. It has happened to me quite a few times over the years.

Looks like the real deal to me. If it were mine and I was looking to sell, I would send to GC and let them submit it to TPG, and CAC then go to auction through them. Excellent find.

Thanks to everyone for their replies. I will be going to the Harrisburg Coin Show next week to submit the coin directly to ANACS. I will keep the community updated.

UPDATE: I submitted the coin to ANACS this past Saturday, along with an 1864 2-cent Small-Motto, and an 1877 Trade dollar with no chop marks. I had brought some other old coins I had just to see if they were worth anything and those two coins were the ones he suggested for grading. I will know in 4-6 weeks.
