This happened a lot on the Buffalo nickels. Some are turned into decorations on belts and jewelry. But to prove a date would be impossible. So now it is a single Buffalo nickel. (It can't get a date)

Without the date there, the only date you can prove with out a date is the 1913 type one:

Without any remaining minute details of the date, anything is just a guess. Save it as a "no date" or throw some Nic-a-date on there.

Penny , one thing for sure ,this is not a mint error . Put it into a 3 to 1 mixture of peroxide and white vinegar enough to cover the coin for about 2 hours . Then see if it brings up the date .

There are five dates (consisting of 11 date and mint combos) that can be identified without the date visible:
1913 and 1913-D and 1913-S type 1
1921 and 1921-S
1923 and 1923-S
1925 and 1925-D and 1925-S
1931-S.

The first ribbon on your coin strongly appears to be ODV-006. That would make the date 1925. Your coin was minted in Philadelphia.
