I'm pretty sure the irregular shape has to do with metal being forced into the different parts of the die. This is a great one to show how, during the strike, the metal going into the shallow parts of the die (the fields for example) spread out in a horizontal plain. While metal flowing into the deeper parts flow "up" into the recesses of the die. Some of the unevenness is the point where these two areas collide. Some metal goes "up" and some metal goes "out". Hope this makes sense. Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow. Report this Post to the Staff
