Spent some time checking online images but could not figure out the attribution. 17-18 mm diameter & approximately 3.8 grams. Would most appreciate help with identification. Rod in TX

Looks like a Roman Republican denarius. I don't know enough about those to tell much more than that.

Q. Titius denarius. Should be good silver. Is it? Could just be the photo, but that doesn't quite look like toned silver. The wide-eyed portrait seems odd too...

Yes, appears as good silver...& agreed, wide eyes...couldn't find another in my amateur searching.

It resembles a denarius of Q. Titius from around 90 BC. However, I suspect it's a modern replica. Here's what a genuine specimen looks like:
