johnsolaris Valued Member United States 86 Posts	Posted 02/13/2022 10:37 am Hi, I picked up about $20 of customer rolled pennies on friday & this is what I found. 1925-d I did not have one. 1964 Canadian that looks like it just came from the mint. Several, more than is in photo, 60's that are still shiny. 4 dimes and a bunch of torn up, more than is in photo, that need to go back to the mint. Report this Post to the Staff

I always think of how amazing it is that a penny almost 100 years old can still be found in a roll! As to the Canadian one, I grew up next to the border. It was my experience that the new cents from Caanda each year tarnished a lot quicker than the ones from the US. I do not know why that was. So to find a 1964 like this suggests to me it was not long ago part of a collection. If it were me I would give it an acetone dip (totally safe - it cannot physically or chemically react with the metal) to remove any unseen contaminants (like finger oil) and put it in coin capsule or 2X2 ASAP. Also note that I live near the Big D in North Tx, so I wonder how long it has been down here. Also was the surprise of the 60's Lincolns still nice & shiny. tencentpenny Pillar of the Community United States 795 Posts	Posted 02/17/2022 9:05 pm I find that the more coins I buy, the better quality I find (I find more quality coins); I am saving up some cash right now to do a massive dime hunt (I am hoping to get $1,000 in dimes to hunt, but I need to save up some cash first, and wait for the coin shortage to be over).
