I have 1979 S Type 1 JFK Half Dollar still in the proof set case. It has a struck through, what I believe to be, a metal shaving on JFK's cheek. With a loupe it looks like a teardrop, however, under a microscope with 500X magnification it looks like a 6 or G. It also has the railroad rim error on both obverse and reverse. I have been to one coin guy in the city I live in, he said it is in fact a mint error, but he's never seen one before and had no clue what to value it at.

Looks like damage from the holder or scratches, but I'm not sure

I've posted this same coin in another forum and the replies were "damage" also. I took it to a coin dealer where I live, to show someone in person, he said it's a mint error. If the blemish on JFK's cheek is a struck through debris error, what could something like that be worth?

If in fact that's a strike through, it's a flaw that would lessen the value to me.
