Hi,

I recently bought this coin, quite rare even in this condition. Unfortunately, I am not sure if it is authentic. I would ask experts for your opinion and to publish photos of your 1/12 anna 1874 Calcutta mint.

Greetings from Poland,

Robert

Considering it's a key date, and probably £150 in this condition, I would be dubious. I'm unsure, I hope it is real. See this for example: https://townhallcoins.com/british-i...-12-anna-ef/
This is in a much better grade. I've been comparing it, the nose line matches up as does all the lettering.

@TobyJ Luckily I spent a lot less than $ 150. But it would be nice if the coin was real.

At the very least, the coin has taken a couple of bad hits, one on the rim and one to the base of the crown over Victoria's forehead.
And I would guess the obverse got a cleaning a while back.

But I am not seeing any really obvious differences compared to an authentic one.

Thank you @tdziemia for your opinion. Unfortunately the coin is copy. The weight is less than it should be: it is 1.84 g and it should be 2.10-2.15 g. The diameter is also slightly smaller. Moreover, I searched auctions and found coins with the same hits.
